LP 19: Limpopo Song

Limpopo Song The Limpopo hums through sunlit lands,   A river’s path, a lifeblood’s hands.   Mountains rise from fertile sand,   Where giraffe and baobab stand.   Green valleys breathe beneath the sky,   Beneath the acacia’s watchful eye.   Where Venda song and Tsonga drum   Keep time until red dusk has come.   This land is whispered seasons, soil,   The ancient trace of dreamer’s toil.   It holds the spirit, old and free,   That flows from roots to canopy.   Heartbeat in winds, in rains that fall;   Limpopo’s voice, the pulse of all.   In every heart, its rhythms guided,   The source that calls us all united.
